Our Story

The Richmond Flying Mummies are the new Northwoods League Baseball team set to debut in Richmond, Indiana, in May 2026 at McBride Stadium. Inspired by the city's unique collection of two authentic Egyptian mummies—one at the Wayne County Historical Museum and another at Earlham College's Joseph Moore Museum—and the area's aviation heritage tied to the Wright brothers, the concept blends ancient mystique with airborne adventure. The team's mascot features a bandage-wrapped pilot sporting goggles and a piercing stare, while home uniforms feature a full mummy wrap. The Flying Mummies aim to resurrect local legend and excitement on the diamond. #WrappedInFun
